An idiotic question

I wrote this yesterday. I am loath to post it because it will likely lead to more of these weird search results getting here, but think it’s kind of funny, so here goes…

Whoever said that there are no stupid questions was talking out of his arse. I suppose it serves me right… By writing anything that mentions porn, it will inevitably lead to page views by idiots asking stupid questions related to porn… Somebody got here searching for this:

What happened before porn shooting?

(Spelled “befour”. I corrected it before writing the heading above.)

How the fuck should I know? Really, your guess should be as good as mine. But because I’m mocking the searcher, I’ll answer anyway:

Maybe, men would go to brothels, and pay a little something to have a gander behind a curtain. I think that’s almost certainly the answer.

But the obvious answer to the idiotic question does lead to two interesting points:

  1. It really is strange that people in general do not regard porn stars as prostitutes. That is certainly what they are. Before porn movies, the same role was surely provided by more traditional prostitutes in brothels.
  2. So what? When you think about it, and realize that you do know the answer, what difference does it make. What does it matter?

Really, what have we gained knowing this factoid? Nothing! In fact, you and I together (and anyone else reading this – Sorry!) have wasted some brain cells on this pointless information. Thanks for that, wanker.

Edit: A random grammar tidbit: I was unsure whether the correct word to use in the first paragraph was “loathe” or “loath”. In fact, I used the wrong word until I looked it up here.

(The next post is relevant to addiction. It will be live 6PM South African time. It also deals with a search string, but one where the person claims to have only positive spiritual effects from using meth.)

Another strange search that got here

Porn sorry I don’t care

I have no context on why somebody searched for this, so I’m going to take a flying guess…

You’re in a relationship, and your partner found out about your porn addiction. (Maybe you use drugs too.) And that’s your answer to them.

Well, you should care. At the very least, a preoccupation with porn rather than, you know, sexual intercourse with your partner, is kind of stupid. But also, consider why your partner is upset. Do you even know why? It might not be what you think. Maybe he or she was abused as a child. Maybe porn is upsetting to him or her for valid reasons that you, in your need for selfish pleasure, do not understand.

But also, porn has a place within a healthy sexual relationship. At least, it can have a place, if you watch it together and use it to add some fun to your sex life. Losers watch porn alone.
